With a view to advancing comprehensive development of sports medicine in the Russian Federation, strengthening the health of Russian athletes, and enhancing the effectiveness of their biomedical support, the President has resolved to create a National Sports Medicine Centre on the basis of the Federal Clinical Research Centre of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation under the Federal Medical-Biological Agency.
The Presidential Executive Order sets forth the main functions of the National Sports Medicine Centre and specifies that funding for its creation and operations will be provided through allocations from the federal budget to the Federal Medical-Biological Agency.
Corresponding instructions have been issued to the Government of the Russian Federation and the Federal Medical-Biological Agency.
