The amendments to a number of legislative acts are aimed at restricting the use of foreign words in public space in the process of commerce, consumer services, and other related activities. This includes commercial designations that individualise a capital facility (or group of capital facilities), or a low-rise residential complex, which a developer plans to use in advertising related to attracting funds from participants in shared construction.
The Federal Law also introduces amendments to the Russian Federation Law The Fundamental Principles of Legislation of the Russian Federation On Culture and Federal Law On the State Policy of the Russian Federation Toward Compatriots Living Abroad, in so far as these provisions pertain to support to be provided by the Russian Federation to compatriots living abroad in preserving their Russian cultural identity and maintaining ties with their historical Motherland.
