The federal law sets forth specific provisions governing activities related to conducting research on commodity markets in the Russian Federation.
In particular, those who organise research projects dealing with commodity markets will face additional obligations, which include compliance with personal data processing requirements, installing technical assets for conducting research on commodity markets within the territory of the Russian Federation and using data on the commodity market structure in the Russian Federation.
The amendments impose restrictions when engaging in commodity market research on foreign countries, international organisations, as well as organisations they control, foreign legal entities, Russian legal entities with over 20 percent of foreign capital, foreign nationals, stateless persons, and Russian citizens who are also citizens of another country.
