Vladimir Putin took part in the BRICS summit. The main focus of the five countries’ meeting was on the global
economy, global economic management and development, international and regional
conflicts, and national security. The Xiamen Declaration was adopted following
the summit.
The President of Russia also met
with the delegation heads from invited states, including Egypt, Tajikistan,
Mexico, Guinea and Thailand. They discussed the implementation of the 2030 Agenda
for Sustainable Development, and prospects for further developing their partner
relations.
Vladimir Putin also took part in a meeting of the BRICS Business Council and attended the opening of the festival
of culture of the BRICS countries.
During his visit, the Russian leader met with
Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping and leaders of a number
of foreign countries. Concluding his visit to China, Vladimir Putin answered
questions from Russian journalists.
