The law aims to adjust Russian legislation to Resolution LEG.5(99) of the International Maritime Organisation in the part that concerns increasing the liability limits by 51 percent for maritime claims that are set out in Article 3 of the 1996 Protocol to the 1976 Convention on Limitation of Liability for Maritime Claims.
The law also stipulates the rules for foreign tourist vessels in Russia’s internal waters and territorial sea.
