The message reads, in part:
“This is a jubilee year for the Russian railway complex. 180 years ago, the first railway line was commissioned in Russia. Over the years, the industry has attained truly remarkable results, played an important role in the country’s economic development, building strong ties between regions. Thanks to the responsible and hard work of many generations of engineers, specialists and workers, dozens of thousands of kilometers of railways were laid, railway stations and other transport infrastructure facilities constructed. A powerful technical, technological, and human resource potential was created.
It is gratifying to see you carry on the wonderful traditions of your predecessors. You constantly pay attention to quality modernisation of communications and the rolling stock, increase security levels and the reliability of transportation. You are introducing modern management practices and logistic schemes along with new services.
I would like to highlight the significant input of railway personnel in commissioning the Moscow Central Ring, in preparing and hosting major sports events – the FIFA Confederations Cup and the FIFA World Cup. I am sure that other large-scale projects will be implemented just as efficiently.”
