The message reads, in part:
“For almost 200 years, the history of Russia has been closely interrelated with the development of its railways, which linked its regions from the western borders to the Far East, and became an important part of the national transport infrastructure. Largely thanks to the hard and dedicated work of your predecessors, thousands of kilometres of railway tracks and new stations have been built over that period of time.
Today, railway transport plays a huge role when it comes to the development of the national economy as well as the social sphere and it connects the cities and the regions of the country. The workers who are employed in the industry are introducing modern technologies and digital solutions. The exceptional transport support for the FIFA World Cup, the 19th Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk, the opening of the train service bypassing Krasnodar, and the construction of a railway to Crimea are just a few of the most significant recent achievements of our railway workers. And I certainly have to mention a major event such as the 45th anniversary of the launch of the BAM railway project we have recently marked.”
