The Executive Order amends the Basic Principles of the Russian Federation State Policy in the Arctic until 2035, as approved by Presidential Executive Order No. 164 of March 5, 2020, On Basic Principles of the Russian Federation State Policy in the Arctic until 2035.
The amendments concern, in particular, assessment of condition and deterioration of permafrost for the purposes of comprehensive socioeconomic development of the Russian Arctic and for the improvement of its infrastructure; using associated petroleum gas and Russian small nuclear power plants; ensuring independence from imports in the shipbuilding industry, developing and upgrading shipbuilding and ship repair facilities for the construction and maintenance of vessels operating on the Northern Sea Route; developing relations with foreign countries within respective multilateral bodies and frameworks.
