The Federal Law will enhance national and public security and the protection of human and civil rights and freedoms.
The Law makes amendments to Russian legislation concerning the exercise by the Russian Federation National Guard of their functions and powers (previously carried out by the Interior Ministry troops before their reorganisation), and the functions and powers of Interior Ministry units and command bodies earlier incorporated into the National Guard.
