The Agreement was signed in St Petersburg on June 18, 2010.
The Agreement stipulates that free (special, exclusive) economic zones are created in order to promote the socioeconomic development of the parties to the Agreement, attract investment, launch and develop production facilities based on new technologies, develop transport infrastructure, tourism and health resort sector, as well as for other purposes defined when creating such economic zones.
