Mr Medinsky spoke about how funds allocated upon the presidential decision to raise wages for staff at federal cultural establishments were used, and briefed the President on the measures taken to make these establishments’ work more effective.
Mr Medinsky said that the Tretyakov Gallery’s new building, when completed, would practically double the museum’s exhibition space. The museum houses one of the biggest collections of Russian art. The Minister also spoke about plans to establish a state exhibition centre, which would organise exhibitions from Russian museums’ collections in the Russian regions and abroad.
