The Executive Order abolishes the Federal Tariff Service and transfers its functions to the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service.
The same document instructs the Government to complete liquidation procedures within the timeframe established by law, envisaging, among other things, “the retention of the human resources of the abolished Federal Tariff Service.”
Earlier, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev made a corresponding proposal at a meeting with the President, saying this would optimise the number of government bodies performing similar functions, help reduce costs and improve coordination between agencies.
The current head of the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service Igor Artemyev will head the newly merged agency.
