Vladimir Putin signed the Executive Order aimed at creating favourable conditions for the implementation of Russia’s scientific and technological development priorities, as well as the development and practical use of new technologies.
According to the document, the status of state research centre will be assigned to scientific organisations with a highly qualified team of specialists, unique scientific installation, centre for the collective use of scientific equipment, and unique experimental equipment.
In addition, the President approved the main areas of activity of state scientific centres, such as research and experimental developments to implement Russia’s scientific and technological development priorities, creating and making practical use of innovations, upgrading their own scientific and technical capacity and experimental base, and professional training of highly qualified scientists and specialists.
State research centres will be designated by the Government. The Cabinet of Ministers has been instructed to adopt a procedure for assigning, maintaining and revoking the status of state research centre and to elaborate state support measures within three months.
