Today, you are focussing extensively on innovative activity and modernising the space and rocket industry, and are pursuing active scientific and teaching work.”
Yury Semyonov has been chief designer of spacecraft and space stations since 1972.
S.P.Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia designed and manufactured the first artificial satellite put into orbit in 1957, automated craft sent to explore the Moon, Venus and Mars, and manned spacecraft and stations. The corporation currently produces the Soyuz and Progress spacecraft used for missions to the International Space Station.
