It is indeed heartening to observe the active participation of the youth. Geography, as a pivotal scientific discipline, unveils a vast expanse of knowledge about our planet, shapes the worldview and perspective of young people, and nurtures a profound affection for our nation and homeland.
I express my sincerest gratitude to the organisers of this event – the Russian Geographical Society and the extensive, tightly-knit team of volunteers – whose efforts ensure that the dictation is conducted at a high creative level, fostering an atmosphere of camaraderie and innovation, and leaving a lasting impression on all participants.

The Geographical Dictation is an international educational campaign that has been held annually since 2015. The primary goal of the campaign is not to evaluate geographical literacy but to promote geographical knowledge and enhance interest in science and national heritage.
On November 16–17, 2024, the tenth Geographical Dictation international educational project will take place at 11,003 venues in Russia and over 110 foreign countries.
