The Agreement is aimed at increasing the level of pensions for the category of citizens indicated.
The Agreement stipulates that citizens of the Russian Federation permanently residing on the Republic of Abkhazia’s territory will be provided with a pension level comparable to the average pensions of the Southern Federal District.
The Agreement was prepared with due account of the commonly recognised norms of international law, and its provisions correspond to the principles and obligations of Eurasian Economic Union member states, as well as the norms of the Russian Federation’s other international agreements on cooperation in providing pensions (social security).
The Agreement applies to legal relations arising from January 1, 2015 and was concluded for a period of 10 years.
