The talks will focus on developing bilateral cooperation in trade and investment, energy, finance, and humanitarian ties. The two leaders will also exchange views on current international issues, above all the situation in the Middle East and North Africa.
Following the talks, Mr Putin and Hamad ibn Isa Al Khalifah will attend the Russian stage of the FIA Formula One World Championship.
Russia will host a stage in the Formula One championship for the first time on October 10–12, 2014, and the international series GP2 and GP3 races at the Sochi Autodrome, Russia’s most modern track for hosting international motorsports events. The Sochi Autodrome, which is located in the Olympic Park, is the only permanent city track equipped with international-level safety features in the Formula One calendar.
Russia was chosen to host the World Championship stage on October 14, 2014. Under the agreement signed with Formula One Group, Russia will hold the Russian Grand Prix race once a year from 2014 to 2020.
