The telegram reads, in part:
“Having won nine medals, five of them gold, you have proven your indisputable excellence over mighty competitors. You have earned the admiration of countless rhythmic gymnastics fans both in Russia and abroad.
I am sure that in the future, you will continue aiming for new athletic heights and that you will represent Russia worthily at the most prestigious international tournaments.”
Dmitry Medvedev also congratulated Yevgenia Kanayeva, who has become the all-around rhythmic gymnastics world champion for the second year in a row.
