At its meeting, the working group headed by the Russian Ice Hockey Federation board chairman Arkady Rotenberg discussed the drafting of the report to the Council, which will, in particular, cover current state of ice hockey in Russia, including the results shown by Russia’s teams at Olympics, world championships and U-20 and U-18 world championships.
The report will include proposals on ways to improve ice hockey management in Russia, develop sports infrastructure and create federal and regional ice hockey training centres. It will also analyse the development of professional ice hockey and formulate proposals to improve the activity of the professional ice hockey leagues.
Among the priority issues are training systems, research and methodological, medical and biological support, training and retraining of coaches and preparations by the Russian team for the XXIII Olympic Winter Games and the XII Paralympic Winter Games to be held in 2018 in Pyeongchang (Republic of Korea).
