“Your representative gathering, which brings together delegations from Russia and other countries, provides an excellent opportunity to exchange experience, hold thematic sessions and roundtable events, and engage in open discussions on a broad range of professional issues. The agenda includes the development of education, the improvement of history teaching, including through the use of AI technologies, and the training of qualified personnel.
In today’s information-saturated world, knowledge of one’s national history is one of the foundations of national identity, a sovereign worldview, the cultural code of the people, and a source of spiritual and moral value formation. Therefore, the teaching of history in schools is, without exaggeration, a matter of state importance, and the role of educators in this process is especially significant.
It is important to provide the younger generation with an understanding of the key stages of their country’s development and to place them organically within the broader context of the historical process. The way teachers present and assess historical events and facts largely shapes children’s and adolescents’ attitudes towards Russian history and helps foster a firm civic and patriotic stance. And, of course, it is essential to protect objective and reliable knowledge from falsifications, imposed myths, and distorted narratives.
I am confident that the congress will contribute to deeper dialogue and cooperation between the educational and academic communities, while its recommendations and proposals will find practical application.”
