The participants focused on current issues of the country’s socioeconomic development and the prospects for a settlement in Syria following the establishment of the Constitutional Committee.
They also exchanged opinions on ways to protect security after the demise of the INF Treaty, including in the context of recent letters on this subject sent to the heads of the leading European and Asian countries.
Taking part in the meeting were Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Anton Vaino, Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov, Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin, and Special Presidential Representative for Environmental Protection, Ecology and Transport Sergei Ivanov.
