The meeting participants discussed the development of the Russian Federation’s Arctic zone and the Northern Sea Route.
They reviewed measures to protect and secure Russia’s state border in Arctic latitudes, ensure military security, establish a search and rescue infrastructure and deploy satellite clusters and communication systems.
Particular attention was given to centres of mineral and raw materials, as well as environmental security and protection.
Proposals were drafted aimed at developing technologies suitable for use in Arctic conditions, upgrading the scientific research fleet and intensifying maritime research projects in the Arctic. The creation of comfortable living conditions was listed as a key priority for Arctic development.
Following the meeting of the Maritime Board, the participants proposed drafting a comprehensive project titled Development of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation and the Northern Sea Route.
