The message reads, in part:
“Built by famous architects, this edifice is rightfully regarded as a priceless masterpiece of national and world architecture, and a true gem of our capital. Bright and unforgettable pages of national culture’s history, the names of outstanding playwrights and writers, directors and actors, musicians and artists are linked with this building. The legendary Ostrovsky House has always brought together talented and dedicated people, true creators and makers. The traditions of selfless and inspired creativity, selfless service to the stage, the people and the Fatherland were established inside this building.
Our sincere gratitude goes to the specialists of various professions who took part in restoring the building in our times. Their tireless and painstaking work largely allowed one of the country’s oldest theatres to acquire new capabilities while retaining its unique historical image. Just as in the past, its famous stage showcases performances of the classical repertoire and works by young authors, implements important charity and educational projects and hosts theatre festivals. The great history of the State Academic Maly Theatre of Russia continues on.”
