The visit will give the two leaders their first chance since Mr Monti became Italian Prime Minister in November 2011 to hold a full-fledged discussion of key bilateral issues and international cooperation. The agenda includes, in particular, preparations for the eighth round of Russian-Italian interstate consultations on top level with cabinet members from both countries taking part, partnership in investment, fuel and energy, and developing the cultural and humanitarian dialogue.
There will also be an exchange of views on various regional and international matters, in particular, the Eurozone crisis, Russia’s partnership with the European Union and NATO, and the situation in Syria.
