The agreement provides for the creation of conditions for the export of Russian cultural products, specifically feature, educational and animated films for distribution on international markets using an Internet platform designed by our Chinese partners. There are also plans to establish a Russian television channel in China.
The memorandum of cooperation was signed by Russia’s Digital Television company, the Russian Export Centre and the Institute of Internet Development and China’s LeEco Global Holdings Limited.
Chinese Ambassador to Russia Li Hui took part in the signing ceremony. In his opening remarks, he highlighted the tremendous importance of the agreement for the development of Russian-Chinese cultural exchanges and the strengthening of neighbourly ties between the two great nations.
The Internet+China working group has been established at the Institute of Internet Development. Represented in it are the industry’s leading companies with total capitalisation exceeding $1 trillion. The group will concentrate efforts on promoting Russian goods and services export to China, attracting investment and innovative knowhow of Chinese IT companies and foundations to Russian startups, supporting Russian businesses emerging on the Chinese market, assisting with the establishment of strategic partnerships and popularising Russian IT companies in China and vice-versa.
As the presidential adviser noted, the Institute of Internet Development is launching a new format of transnational cooperation with the Internet+China working group. It is called upon to help Russian and Chinese businesses with joint projects. In future, this format can serve as an example for contacts with companies from other countries.
