Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the successful opening of the Russian Seasons Festival in Italy on January 14, 2018. They noted that the schedule of this large-scale festival includes over 250 cultural events, which will help strengthen friendly ties between the people of Russia and Italy.
They also held an in-depth discussion on the further development of mutually beneficial trade and cooperation in the economy and energy.
Vladimir Putin and Paolo Gentiloni exchanged opinions on current international issues, including in light of Italy’s chairmanship of the OSCE this year, as well as the settlement of the situation in Libya and the internal Ukrainian crisis.
It was agreed to maintain contact at various levels.
