The President of Russia paid a working visit to Israel, where he took part in commemorative events marking the 75th anniversary
of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp by the Red Army and International
Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Netanyahu unveiled the Memorial Candle monument in Jerusalem dedicated to the heroic defenders and residents of besieged Leningrad. The Russian President
also addressed the Remembering the Holocaust: Fighting Antisemitism international
forum and presented the Order of Courage to a relative of Leon Feldhendler,
hero of the uprising at the Sobibor death camp.
In addition, Vladimir Putin had separate meetings
with Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu and President of Israel Reuven
Rivlin.
