State visit to Uzbekistan
The President of Russia made a state visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
On the first day of the visit, Vladimir Putin and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited New Uzbekistan Park in Tashkent. The President of Russia laid a wreath at the Independence Monument.
On the second day of the visit, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan held an official welcome ceremony for Vladimir Putin at the Presidential Palace.
Bilateral talks began with a restricted format meeting and continued in an expanded format. Following the talks, the two presidents signed a joint statement and made statements for the press. They also signed a package of intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents on cooperation.
Later the same day, Vladimir Putin and Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the first meeting of the Council of Regions of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The two leaders also visited the Victory Park memorial complex.
