The President’s message reads, in part:
“The oil and gas complex has always played a special strategic part in the history of our country, in strengthening the national economy, the development of the regions and in establishing large industrial centres. Thanks to the great and strenuous efforts of our predecessors, their competency and responsible attitude toward their work, Russia has been in a leading position in hydrocarbon production and is making a huge contribution to ensuring global energy security.
It is crucial to note that the industry is on the upswing today, stepping up its potential, opening up new opportunities for developing LNG markets, transporting gas inside the country and via promising routes aboard. We can say that with confidence, as we look at the scale of current projects, whereby unique technological problems are being solved, connected, among other things, with the exploration of the sea shelf and the Arctic.”
