To ensure Russia’s energy security, the President approved the new Energy Security Doctrine of the Russian Federation and cancelled the Energy Security Doctrine approved by the President on November 29, 2012.
The Doctrine is a strategic planning document in the field of national security reflecting the official view on ensuring Russia's energy security. The legal framework for the Doctrine includes the Constitution of the Russian Federation, federal constitutional laws, federal laws, and normative legal acts of the President and the Government.
The Doctrine expands and develops the provisions of the National Security Strategy of the Russian Federation, the Economic Security Strategy of the Russian Federation through to 2030, the Scientific and Technological Development Strategy of the Russian Federation, the Basic Principles of Russia’s State Policy on Industrial Safety through to 2025 and beyond, and other strategic planning documents in the field of national security.
