Vladimir Bulavin replaced Nikolai Vinnichenko, whose candidacy was submitted by Prosecutor General Yury Chaika to the Federation Council for the post of deputy prosecutor general.
Before this, Mr Bulavin was First Deputy Secretary of the Security Council.
