Mr Sitnikov said that investment in the region was up 17 percent in 2014 compared to 2013. The region’s construction sector is showing good results.
Mr Putin accepted Mr Sitnikov’s request to step down from office ahead of term and appointed him Acting Governor of the region until early gubernatorial elections take place.
