Mr Khamitov reported that there was progress in many areas of development. This concerns industrial production, and tax and non-tax revenue. Preparations for harvesting have begun.
Bashkortostan has climbed from the middle to the top of the Russian regions’ investment climate rating. Thus, a large wood processing facility will be launched this year. One of Bashkortostan’s plants is developing the PD-14 engine (only three plants in the world produce this type of engine). Small and medium-sized businesses are growing. Mr Khamitov also noted that there are some good trends in attracting investment into agriculture.
The region is working on broadening industrial cooperation. Many medium-sized petrochemical companies have united into clusters. There is also a fine chemicals cluster, and a geophysics cluster. Companies are creating informal associations and entering the market together.
