Vladimir Putin took part in the events commemorating the 77th anniversary of the lifting of the siege
of Leningrad.
The President laid flowers at the Landmark Stone monument of the Nevsky Pyatachok military historical complex and visited the Piskaryovskoye Cemetery, where he laid a wreath at the Motherland
monument to honour the memory of the Leningrad residents and soldiers who died defending
the city during the siege.
Vladimir Putin viewed a complex of historical artistic three-dimensional panoramas, Memory Speaking: The Road
Through War, at Vasilyevsky Island in St Petersburg.
Later the President visited the State Memorial
Museum of the Defence and Siege of Leningrad, where he met with Great Patriotic
War veterans and representatives of public patriotic associations. Before the meeting, Vladimir Putin toured the museum’s renewed exhibition.
