The Russian Government has been instructed to make the State Duma adopt a federal law amending the environmental legislation, including in order to prevent emergencies like the spill of diesel fuel in Norilsk, Krasnoyarsk Territory.
Moreover, the instructions to the Government include, in particular, amendments aimed at enhancing liability for infringing the law on the treatment of animals and to improve legal regulation of various issues related to environmental protection as well as accessibility, safety and comfort of ecotourism.
Separate instructions have been given to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Interior Ministry, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Education, the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources, and the Ministry of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Natural Disaster Relief.
