For mass heroism and valour, fortitude and bravery displayed by the regiment’s personnel during combat operations to defend the Fatherland and state interests in conditions of armed conflicts, the President resolved to confer the honorary name Guards on the 23rd Tallinn Fighter Aviation Regiment. From now on the regiment shall be known as the 23rd Guards Tallinn Fighter Aviation Regiment.
