For mass heroism and bravery, fortitude and courage displayed by the 143rd Motorised Rifle Regiment personnel during combat operations to defend the Fatherland and state interests in armed conflicts, the President conferred the honorary Guards designation on the 143rd Motorised Rifle Regiment, which shall henceforth be referred to as the 143rd Guards Motorised Rifle Regiment.
