Following a discussion of information from the Foreign Ministry and Justice Ministry on Russia’s accession to the Council of Europe Civil Law Convention on Corruption of November 4, 1999, the Presidium decided to draft a roadmap of measures for improving Russia’s legislation in order to participate more effectively in the Convention.
Anti-corruption measures in the Federal Registration Service (Rosreestr) and ways to make them more effective were also discussed at the meeting.
The Economic Development Ministry has been instructed to draft proposals on measures to prevent corruption in the registration of property rights and transactions concerning land relations.
The heads of the Interior Ministry, Investigative Committee, and Prosecutor General’s Office reported on the results of the law enforcement agencies’ efforts to prevent cases of corruption in hostile asset takeovers.
