The Pulsar: Day After Tomorrow educational centre in Melitopol is designed for 120 children. It will offer developmental and career-guidance lessons, meetings with psychologists, lessons with tutors, and expert-led meetings for parents.
The Commissioner thanked RBK StroyInvest and the Country for Children Foundation for assistance in repairing and improving the building and expressed the hope that Pulsar would become a centre of attraction for local people, where everyone would be able to develop their talents, make friends, receive support and be happy.
Ahead of the national inspection of the social orphanhood prevention system in the region, the Commissioner held a meeting with the heads of relevant Zaporozhye ministries and custody and guardianship agencies, as well as directors of children’s facilities.
Maria Lvova-Belova noted that the regional authorities were aware of the importance of supporting parents in a difficult situation and planned to open a social hotel and a crisis centre for families, without separating parents from their children.
During the working visit, the Commissioner visited the Mother and Child Crisis Centre in Berdyansk, where she met with resident families.
Maria Lvova-Belova presented a drawing tablet to the winner of the My Dreams online exhibition, which was earlier held within the framework of the Support through Life strategic programme.
