Recep Tayyip Erdogan warmly congratulated Vladimir Putin on the 73rd anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and on assuming the office of President of the Russian Federation.
The two leaders discussed the situation created by the United States’ unilateral withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on Iran’s nuclear programme. They pointed out the importance of the JCPOA for international and regional security and global non-proliferation. They also confirmed their countries’ resolve to maintain cooperation with the other JCPOA countries and to coordinate their actions in this context.
In addition, the presidents of Russia and Turkey discussed the Syrian settlement and the implementation of the main bilateral projects.
