During the telephone conversation, Vladimir Putin warmly congratulated Ilham Aliyev on his birthday.
The two leaders touched on certain current issues of bilateral interaction.
Earlier, the Russian President sent a message of congratulations to the President of Azerbaijan.
The message reads, in part:
“Under your leadership, Azerbaijan is moving confidently along the path of its socioeconomic development, strengthening its position on the international arena. It is hard to overestimate your personal contribution to consolidating the strategic partnership between our two countries.
I genuinely value the trust and mutual understanding that has developed between us. I look forward to continuing our fruitful joint work for the benefit of the peoples of Russia and Azerbaijan.”
