The Presidential Aide also pointed out the need to enlist the participation of non-governmental organisations in this work, whose role in promoting physical fitness and sports in our country will come into focus at the upcoming meeting of the Presidential Council for the Development of Physical Culture and Sport, which will take place on the sidelines of the forum.
Alexei Dyumin went on to underscore the practicality of using the forum to organise a meeting with the Russian athletes who are winners and medalists of the 2024 17th Summer Paralympic Games in Paris.
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko noted that this year Russia hosted a number of major international competitions, such as the Games of the Future, Children of Asia Games, and the BRICS Games which places Russia among the leading nations in organising large-scale events.
“The Russia – Country of Sports International Sports Forum is particularly important amid the current geopolitical environment as a platform for developing joint solutions,” Dmitry Chernyshenko noted. “We will engage with the international expert community to discuss the establishment of sports associations and the introduction of innovative competition formats.”
