Investigative Committee Chairman Alexander Bastrykin said the agency took an active part in preparing and conducting the ‘Stop the Killing’ TV marathon in support of Donbass children. Funds were raised for Doctor Liza’s [Yelizaveta Glinka’s] Just Aid foundation to provide assistance to injured and sick children in southeastern Ukraine.
Participants in the meeting stressed that far from taking the issues that fall within the council’s purview off the agenda, new problems are emerging that cannot be ignored, as the life of every child is important. All those present unanimously expressed their willingness to work on issues related to helping children and approved of renaming the council the Coordination Council to Help Children Affected by Disasters and Wars.
A number of specific proposals were put forward at the meeting, designed to protect the rights, life and health of children in southeastern Ukraine and measures were proposed to optimise the mechanism of cooperation between all agencies in working to fulfil this task.
