Presidential Aide and Special Presidential Representative for Climate and Water Resources Ruslan Edelgeriyev chaired the sixth meeting of the expert group on the rational management of water resources for sustainable development, operating under the Interdepartmental Working Group on Climate Change and Sustainable Development.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief, the Foreign Ministry, the Federal Agency for Water Resources, the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources, the Water Problems Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Hydrometeorological Centre, and leading scientific organisations.
Participants discussed pressing issues related to water availability in the regions, as well as forecast assessments of river runoff in the Russian Federation.
