Russian Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov and UAE Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia Mohammed Al Jaber informed the heads of state about the two countries’ cooperation in education. The leaders attended a lesson in Arabic and a workshop on Arabic script, as well as a biology lesson with students of the Russian School in Abu Dhabi, a branch of the Primakov Gymnasium that opened in 2021. Children from the UAE participated in the lesson via videoconference.
The Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Centre of International Cooperation in Education with the UAE was established in 2024. The centre develops programmes and courses for schoolchildren and young teachers across Russia to study Arabic, holds Olympiads and off-site internships for students and teachers, and organises international scientific and practical forums for university staff, teachers, and research centres’ employees. The Centre’s partners include the Institute of Asian and African Studies at Lomonosov Moscow State University, the Moscow State Linguistic University, and the Chechen State Pedagogical University.
