The President deemed it advisable to establish the Defenders of the Fatherland State Foundation to Support Participants in the Special Military Operation, for the purpose of creating conditions that would ensure a dignified life and activities for participants in the special military operation, other individuals and members of their families.
The foundation will support veterans of combat operations who were involved in the special military operation, as well as those who were involved in hostilities in Donbass starting in 2014.
The foundation will also assist the families of such individuals who were killed in the line of duty or following their discharge from military service. This concerns cases when such individuals died due to injuries or health disorders sustained in the line of duty.
First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Kiriyenko will head the Supervisory Council of the Foundation. Minister of Labour and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov was appointed Chairman of its Board of Trustees.
