Russian Geographical Society Board of Trustees meeting

Vladimir Putin held the eleventh meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Russian Geographical Society at the Society’s headquarters. The agenda included a review of the organisation’s performance in 2018 and the current year’s projects.

A small silver medal for fostering a sensitive attitude toward nature among young people went to the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Branch of the Russian Geographical Society.   • At the Russian Geographical Society medal and certificate award ceremony. A small silver medal went to the Tomsk Regional Branch of the Russian Geographical Society for active research to study the Siberian region, Russia and the world. Chair of the branch Eduard Galazhinsky received the award.
  • At the Russian Geographical Society medal and certificate award ceremony. A certificate of merit was awarded to the youth club based at the RGO branch in the Republic of Crimea for achievements in developing RGO youth clubs. RGO volunteer Ksenia Gasitsa received the award.
  • After the meeting of the Russian Geographical Society Board of Trustees, Vladimir Putin took part in the Globe of Russian Leadership project and signed the greater globe stored at the RGO.
  • As part of the Globe of Russian Leadership project, the participants of the first ever descent to the bottom of the World Ocean at the North Pole, namely, member of the RGO Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ferring Pharmaceuticals Frederik Dag Arfst Paulsen (right) and Head of the Laboratory for Scientific Operation of Deep-Sea Habitats of the Shirshov Institute of Oceanology at the Russian Academy of Sciences and Hero of the Russian Federation Anatoly Sagalevich, signed the greater globe.
