Dmitry Medvedev issued an order to assign the Voronezh-DM missile attack early warning radar station to the Russian Space Forces.

A unique feature of the Voronezh-DM missile attack early warning radar station is significantly shorter deployment time in a new location and a smaller number of personnel required as compared to the previous generation radar stations, as well as the possibility of redeployment if necessary. The radar station in Kaliningrad was put into operation to improve the performance of the missile warning system.
