Trip to Northwestern Federal District. 80th anniversary of breaking siege of Leningrad
Vladimir Putin took part in commemorative events to mark the 80th anniversary of breaking the siege of Leningrad. The President laid flowers at the Landmark Stone monument in the Leningrad Region, and at a mass grave and the Motherland monument at the Piskaryovskoye Memorial Cemetery.
At the State Museum of the Defense and Siege of Leningrad, the President toured the Spark of Leningrad Victory exhibition and met with Great Patriotic War veterans, those who lived in Leningrad during the siege and representatives of patriotic public associations.
Vladimir Putin also visited the Obukhov Plant, part of Almaz-Antey Aerospace Defence Corporation, where he saw samples of military and civilian products and talked with plant workers.
During his working trip, he also met with St Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov.
