The President will review the parade aboard a speedboat, passing by lines of warships in the Gulf of Finland, the Neva, and the Kronstadt roadstead. He will also congratulate their crews on Navy Day.
The event traditionally includes sea and land components. This year, 45 ships, boats and submarines, as well as about 3,000 servicemen, will take part in the parade. It will conclude with a solemn march of parade units of military personnel and students of pre-university institutions of the Navy and junior officers of Yunarmiya.
Ship parades will also take place in Vladivostok, Baltiysk, Severomorsk, Kaspiysk, Novorossiysk and Tartus (Syria). In the evening, salute and fireworks will be launched in St Petersburg and Kronstadt to mark Navy Day.
